Gibson Lake Wildlife Habitat

The Gibson Lake Wildlife Habitat, a 160-acre site is a natural wetland offering visitors the opportunity to view wildlife in its natural environment. Two nature trails include an observation deck and a photography blind. Group and educational tours are encouraged. School visits are limited to September through November, and March through May, weather permitting.
Despite being closed to fishing, Lake Gibson still welcomes boats for recreation and bird watching. Gibson Lake's only boat ramp is located on the south side of the lake and is open typically March through October, and a permit is required to enter the lake. Permits can be received in the mail by contacting the Facility Services Team Leader at Gibson Generating Station.
