Lyles Station - Celebrating freedom, knowledge and success in Indiana, Lyles Station stands as one of the last remaining African American settlements in the state. Named in the 1800's after early settler Joshua Lyles, this community's heritage is preserved in the renovated Lyles Consolidated School. Its Heritage Classroom provides students the opportunity to experience a day in the life of school children in the early 1900's. The school also features a museum, gift shop, hands on activities, meeting facility and a period garden.
