Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana Inc. Opens New Visitors Center

Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana celebrated the opening of its new, state-of-the-art Visitors Center with a media open house on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010.  The Visitors Center features interactive, multimedia exhibits about Toyota’s history, Toyota manufacturing processes, Toyota’s environmental commitment, the Tri-State’s industrial background and Toyota Indiana’s activities in the community.  A coalescing Tundra truck suspended from the ceiling provides a dramatic centerpiece for the Visitors Center which also includes 7,900 square feet of exhibition space and a 1,000 square ft. theater.  Plant tours will take guests by tram through body welding and vehicle assembly shops.  Producers of the Highlander SUV, the Sequoia SUV, and the Sienna Minivan, this 4 million square ft. plant covers 1,160 acres and employs approximately 5,000 workers.
